Aircraft
Maintenance
Jones
Air's maintenance facility is considered to be one of the best in
western Queensland and provides aircraft maintenance services to
clients in rural Queensland and NSW. We are licensed to provide
comprehensive maintenance to piston engine, turbine engine and rotary
wing aircraft, including airframe welding.

Our
experienced engineering staff can handle aircraft from
small piston engined planes up to the larger turbine
aircraft. Here our staff can be seen working on one of Jones Air's
AT-802's.
Chief
Engineer Rick Ellis is a licensed aircraft maintenance engineer
with many years experience in aircraft servicing and workshop
management to CASA standards and Aircraft maker specifications under
full Quality Certification procedures.
Rick manages
our busy staff with administrative assistance from Amy
Parke. Engineers include Clynton Chandler, Clint Jackwitz,
Damian Hersey and apprentices Joseph Kennedy & Cody Watt.
Jones
Air maintain our own fleet of agricultural aircraft as well as those
of other operators. Other clients use their aircraft for aerial
mustering or simply as a means of transport. We are also an approved
Robinson Helicopter Service Centre.
The
bulk of the work is undertaken at our workshop in St George, but
we also offer onsite maintenance in places as far afield as Boulia,
Charleville, Biloela, Thargomindah and down into Northern NSW in
areas around Lightning Ridge and Wanaaring.
Licensed
pilots on staff enable our team to cover a broad geographical area
of Western QLD and Northern NSW, providing an unmatched aircraft
maintenance service. Alternatively our engineers can drive by car
out to the field for services. Of course, we encourage our clients
to consider bringing their helicopter or aeroplane into our well
equipped hangars rather than relying on field services. This allows
us full access to our well stocked parts store and tooling. There
is plenty of accomodation available in St George and we can usually
make a vehicle available during your stay.
Queensland
Aerospray, an aircraft repainting business run by Don Woodrow, leases
a purpose built hangar from Jones Air. Don and his team can strip
and repaint your aircraft helping to protect your valuable investment.
He has considerable painting experience on both military and civilian
aircraft, and can design a new paint scheme or redo the original.
Jones
Air recognises the problem of a shortage of aircraft engineers within
the industry, especially those familiar with agricultural aircraft.
We have an accredited apprenticeship scheme in conjunction with
the Department of Employment, Training and Industrial Relations
at Roma, QLD, which supplies the company and the industry with an
ongoing supply of skilled labour.
We
would be pleased to discuss your maintenance requirements with you.
